Packing guide – pack like a mover.
A well-packed home is faster to carry, safer to transport and easier to unpack. Here is everything our movers have learned in thousands of moves.

How many boxes do you need?
Pick your home size and how many days you need the boxes. The numbers come from our own box rentals – still, every home has a different amount of books and dishes.
EZ rental boxes (60 × 40 × 30 cm) €0.15 / box / day. We deliver and pick up Mon–Fri 15–20; the driver texts about 30 min before.
Order boxesPacking timeline
- 3 weeks before

10 golden rules
What our movers hope every customer does. They make the move faster – and since you pay for the actual time, they save money too.
Heavy in small boxes, light in big ones
Books and dishes at the bottom, pillows and clothes on top. One box max. about 20 kg – one you could lift yourself.
Plates on their edge
Plates travel best standing like records on a shelf, with paper or a towel between each. In a stack the bottom plate takes all the weight.
No empty space
Fill the gaps with paper, towels or socks. When nothing moves, nothing breaks.
Label the top and the side
Room and number, e.g. KITCHEN 3/8. On the side it shows in a stack too, and the movers take the box straight to the right room.
Tape the bottom in an H
On cardboard boxes, tape across the middle seam and both edges. EZ plastic boxes need no tape at all.
Screws in a bag, bag on the furniture
If you take furniture apart yourself, put the screws in a zip bag and tape it under the piece. Our movers also take apart and assemble for you – it’s included.
Photograph the cables
One photo behind the TV, computer and router saves an evening in the new home.
Clothes can stay on hangers
Hanging clothes travel in a garment bag or a bin bag with a hole for the hangers.
Fridge empty 24 h before
Defrost the freezer and dry the fridge a day before so no water runs in the truck.
The first-night box
Pack separately what you need right away: chargers, medicines, toothbrushes, bed sheets, the coffee maker and a few snacks.
Room by room
Kitchen

Start with the cupboards you rarely use.
- Plates on edge, glasses and mugs one by one in paper – handles in
- Pots nested with a tea towel between
- Spices and oils closed and bagged so nothing leaks
- Knives in paper and a towel, blade marked
Living room
Books and decorations are the heaviest – small boxes.
- Books flat or spine down, never page edge down
- Decorations in paper, fragile boxes marked FRAGILE
- Remotes and cables in a bag with their device
- No need to pack the TV: the movers protect it with blankets and film
Bedroom and clothes

Textiles are light and perfect padding.
- Hanging clothes with their hangers in a garment bag
- Off-season clothes and duvets in vacuum bags
- Sheets and pillows as padding for fragile items
- Drawers can often stay full of light clothes – ask the movers
Bathroom
Small bottles, big mess – if a cap opens.
- Open bottles closed, film under the cap, upright in a bag
- Medicines in your own bag, not in a moving box
- Towels on top or as padding
Office and electronics
Photograph, label, and use the original box if you kept it.
- Back up your computer before the move
- Cables coiled with a name tag
- Screens and printers are protected during the move
- Important papers in a folder that travels with you
Kids’ room
A child’s own box helps: favourite toys and the sleep buddy travel with you.
- Toys sorted into boxes
- Cot taken apart, screws bagged and taped to it
- Let your child draw their own sign on their boxes
Furniture

Taking apart and assembling is included in our moves – you don’t have to do it.
- Empty shelves and display cabinets
- Remove glass doors and shelves if it’s easy
- On moving day, tell us which pieces matter most to you
Appliances
The washing machine and fridge need a little preparation.
- Washing machine empty and dry; transport bolts out if you kept them
- Washing machine disconnect + install as an extra €70 (washer + dryer €100)
- Fridge and freezer empty and defrosted a day before
- Cooker hoods and built-ins usually stay
Pictures, mirrors and lamps

Glass and corners are the weak spots.
- Tape an X over picture glass
- Corners with cardboard or bubble wrap
- Lampshades separately, bulbs out
- Mirrors upright, never flat
Balcony, storage and basement
These usually hold more than you think – check early.
- Recycle broken and unneeded things in time
- Bikes, skis and tools bundled
- Mention in your quote request if there’s a lot from storage
- Furniture is wrapped in film and blankets before carrying
- TVs and screens are always protected
- Protection is included – you don’t need to pack them
Don’t pack these in a moving box
- Keys, passport and important papers
- Medicines, glasses and chargers
- Cash, jewellery and other valuables
- Your work computer
Don’t send in the load
- Gas bottles and fuels
- Open paints and solvents
- Fireworks and other explosives
- Perishable food
On the morning of the move
- Secure the truck’s spot The truck stops as close to the door as possible. Tell us in advance about gates or codes.
- Free the lift If the lift can be booked, book it for the move.
- Boxes in one place Near the door, heaviest at the bottom. Carrying starts straight away.
- Walk-through with the movers The team introduces itself and goes through what to protect and anything special.
- Last round Cupboards, balcony, storage and basement empty – then lock the door.
Tip: give every room its own colour. Coloured tape on the side of the box and the same colour on the door in the new home – the boxes find their way without questions.
No time to pack?
With our packing service, two packers pack your home carefully, usually 1–2 days before the move. Boxes are labelled by room for the new home.
